Brian Alper

Brian Alper oversees all aspects of human resources for McCaffery, joining the company in 2018. His responsibilities include talent acquisition and onboarding, compensation and benefits, executive coaching and counseling, employee relations and investigations, employee communication and engagement, strategic policy development, performance management, training and development, legal/regulatory compliance, and HRIS and payroll.

Prior to employment at McCaffery, Brian had a lengthy career at Urban Retail Properties. His most recently held role there was Senior VP of HR. During his tenure at Urban, he was responsible for approximately 3,900 employees nationwide while also supporting employees of JMB Realty, JMB Insurance, Walton Street Capital, and GEM Capital Realty.  

Brian graduated with an undergraduate degree in Communication Studies from the University of Kansas, and earned his Master’s Degree in Industrial Labor Relations and Human Resources Management from Loyola University in Chicago. 

Brian holds his professional human resources certifications SCP (Senior Certified Professional) from SHRM and his SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) from The Human Resources Certification Institute. Brian is also a member of the Chicago Peer 150 Group, which is a networking organization comprised of senior human resources leaders.
