McCaffery is pleased to announce it has successfully coordinated financing and negotiated lease terms for the acquisition and lease-up of privately-held 1222 Wisconsin Avenue in Washington, D.C. commissioned by the property’s owners. The full-service real estate firm arranged financing of the 13,854-square-foot, privately-held asset with Raleigh-based partner, Medalist Capital. McCaffery’s Director of Leasing, Rory Cameron, established and executed terms for the entire space with Pennsylvania-based convenience retailer, Wawa Inc.

“We applied our full range of services to acquire and lease this iconic space and are happy to bring a new retail option to the residents of Georgetown that will maintain the historic look and feel of this great neighborhood."

- Rory Cameron, Director of Leasing, McCaffery Brokerage

Previously home to luxury furniture retailer, Restoration Hardware, the iconic 1222 Wisconsin Avenue was built in 1927 and is located in the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and Prospect Street NW in the heart of D.C.’s Georgetown neighborhood. This will be Wawa’s second storefront in D.C.

McCaffery has been an active property services provider in the Washington, D.C. real estate market for more than 20 years, and is currently working with the 1222 Wisconsin buyer to develop an adjacent property at 3200 Prospect Street NW. In addition, the company oversees retail leasing for 99 M Street SE and retail leasing and residential management of F1RST, a 450,000-square-foot mixed-use development in the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood.
