Solera Senior Living Announces Opening of Newest Community, Modena Reserve at Kensington
KENSINGTON, MD. – (December 8, 2021) – Solera Senior Living, a Denver-based operator, developer and investor of next-generation senior living communities across the U.S., today announced the opening of its newest property, the Modena Reserve™ at Kensington. Modena™ is a full-service independent living, assisted living and memory care community located in the historic town of Kensington, Md.
Located at 10540 Metropolitan Avenue, just 10 miles north of the United States Capitol, Modena™ spans 166,000 square feet on a 1.7-acre site that includes a five-story above-ground building, one-story below-ground parking garage, and an adjacent connector building that integrates in two existing early 1900’s era single story historic buildings. The two historic buildings have been preserved, renovated and meticulously refinished to match their former luster, in order to maintain the streetscape and to provide interior space for a high-quality modern spa experience and a boutique coffee shop.

Modena™ is the first development from a joint venture between Solera, McCaffery Interests and AEW Capital Management, and designed by Antunovich Associates and Lantz-Boggio Architects, in partnership with PE Services, Dewberry Engineers, Structura, Wohlsen Construction, and ECS. Solera and McCaffery continue to pursue additional senior living development opportunities across the U.S including a project in pre-planning in Cary, NC.
