Southbridge

Formerly the site of the Harold Ickes Homes, a CHA public housing property demolished in 2010, McCaffery and The Community Builders were chosen by the Chicago Housing Authority to develop the 11-acre Southbridge. Located at the major arterial intersection of Cermak and State Street in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood across from the Green line CTA station, this mixed-income, mixed-use development will revitalize the budding community with multiple retail and residential options. Southbridge includes rental and for-sale housing across a broad spectrum of affordability. The development is adjacent to important community amenities, including recreational playing fields and the National Teacher’s Academy.
