Market Common®, Myrtle Beach
Just one mile from the beach, Market Common® is a master-planned, mixed-use development in the heart of the charming and family-friendly Myrtle Beach vacation destination. Formerly serving as the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, Market Common® is comprised of 400,000 SF of dynamic retail and 3,000 residential units, set in an urban village configuration.
Serving as a catalyst for additional development, the City of Myrtle Beach and Redevelopment Authority invested nearly $100,000,000 for infrastructure, creating new walking and biking paths, freshwater lakes, sports fields, a natatorium and gymnasium, all walking distance from Market Common®. The project was awarded the International Council of Shopping Centers’ Silver Award for Innovative Design and Development of a New Mixed-Use Project in 2009.
