McCaffery Receives Corporate Landmark Honor at 2017 Landmarks Illinois Legendary Landmarks Celebration

It was a spirited celebration on March 15th as McCaffery Interests was named the recipient of the 2017 Corporate Legendary Landmark Award at the Landmarks Illinois' 2017 Legendary Landmarks Celebration. A ballroom of 755 attendees looked on as Dan McCaffery proudly accepted the award on behalf of the company. This prestigious award is the fourth major award presented to McCaffery in the past two years, including the Crystal Leaf Award from Friends of the Forest Preserves, the Wisconsin Award from the Graaskamp Center for Real Estate and a Lifetime Achievement Award from Roosevelt University.

The McCaffery team earned the Landmark distinction based on its commitment to the adaptive reuse of several historic Chicago structures, including the 1895 Burnham & Root-designed Reliance Building and the 1930 Puckey & Jenkins-designed Boiler Room and Laundry Building on the former Children's Memorial Hospital campus in Lincoln Park, currently in development.

"It is an honor to receive awards that reflect so clearly on the quality and dedication of the McCaffery team. They like what they do and they do it so very well," said Dan McCaffery. "The award is made even more special given that we share the night with two very special persons in Fred Eychaner and Richard Hunt."

Eychaner is the founder of the Newsweb Corporation and the Alphawood Foundation, and a longtime civil rights and peace activist. Hunt is an accomplished artist whose work can be found in numerous museums and collections, including the new National Museum of African American History and Culture at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
